The Portuguese participation in the Plastpol fair, in Kielce, Poland, was very positive, having reaffirmed the growing importance of this market for the Portuguese mouldmaking industry. CEFAMOL was accompanied, between May 23 and 26, by the companies CR Moulds, Prifer, Socem ED and Steelplus.

Poland has become one of the main export destinations for the portuguese mouldmaking industry, being where many of the big European and world players have been moving and establishing themselves, becoming a gateway to the Eastern market that, in the last years, has also been growing.

The focus was, essentially, the automotive industry, but other areas that can be interesting alternatives, such as home appliances, were also highlighted.

The contacts with customers and potential customers showed the enormous vagueness that the automotive industry is still going through, not because there are no new projects, but because there is no clear definition regarding its progress. However, the home appliances area has proven to be an option to be considered, since there are new projects and there is a dynamic around them.

For this reason, Plastpol has shown to continue to be a strategic fair for the sector, also because the diversity and alternative areas to the automobile present there are part of the diversity that has been defined for the future of this industry.
