A presence that turned out to be positive. Five companies accompanied CEFAMOL in the sixth edition of the 'Plastics Meetings', the international business convention for the plastics industry that took place on December 15th and 16th, in Lyon, France. In the end, DRT Moldes, Ecotool, E&T, Maxiplás and Simoldes Tools classified the participation as “positive”.
According to Patrício Tavares, from CEFAMOL, national companies had the opportunity to “meet with potential customers and maintain interesting contacts”, returning with good prospects for future business.
The 'Plastics Meetings' are a space for targeted meetings, where mould makers have the possibility to contact directly with potential customers in the plastics industry (OEM and their first line suppliers). There are no outside visitors in space, there are scheduled meetings. That's what happened these two days. “Companies held several meetings and, even when they couldn't schedule a contact of interest, they always had the possibility to meet him and introduce themselves, because they were all present in the same space”, he stresses.
The Covid-19 pandemic, Patrício Tavares also revealed, brought some differences to this fair. In this year's edition, companies from France were mainly present, since due to various restrictions related to the pandemic evolution, many, from other countries, ended up not having the opportunity to participate in the event.
France has been, according to Portuguese standards, the third largest market in terms of size and, in this regard, the Association’s representative is convinced that “it was very positive for companies to be present and to show that they are active and available to embrace the most challenging projects”. In addition to resuming some contacts with already known customers, national manufacturers had the opportunity to 'discover' new market players.
The participation of CEFAMOL, with this group of companies, in this event was promoted within the scope of the sector’s international promotion plan: ‘Engineering & Tooling from Portugal’.
