FAKUMA – THE RETURN TO IN-PERSON EVENTS

There were 25 companies that integrated the presence promoted by CEFAMOL within the scope of the Engineering & Tooling from Portugal promotion project, at “Fakuma”, which took place between the 12th and 16th of October, at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre, in Germany.

It was a return to face-to-face events greatly welcomed by participants, both exhibitors and visitors, allowing the resumption of personal contacts after a year and a half of constraints and travel limitations generated by the pandemic.

Despite the smaller number of visitors compared to previous editions, due to the fact that there is still some conditioning in the participation in these events in many of the sector's client companies, the national representation was satisfied with the contacts established. In his words, there were fewer contacts, but more targeted and with a concrete interest for the development of new projects.

For the Portuguese Mould Industry, the German market continues to be of strategic importance, being currently, and despite the decline, the main destination for our exports and a barometer of the business and its main trends, not only in Europe, but also also from the main world markets where its companies are present and influence the purchase decision.

The 25 companies that participated with CEFAMOL in the event were: AES Moldes, Bormat, CR Molds, Distrim 2, Ecotool, Fozmoldes, Frumolde, Itecmo, Jetmol, Microplasticos, Moldegama, Moldes 2000, Moldoeste, Moldoplastico, Moliporex, Planimolde, PMM, Socem, Steelplus, Ribermold, Tecnifreza, Tecnimoplas, TJ Moldes, UEpro and VSV Moldes.

Held in the south of Germany and close to the border with Switzerland and Austria, Fakuma concentrates the main origin of its visitors in these markets, registering, however, edition after edition, a greater geographical coverage, primarily concentrated in Europe.

With the presence of around 1,500 exhibitors, from 39 different nationalities, the event, dedicated to the entire value chain of the plastics industry, mainly in terms of injection, celebrated its 27th edition in 2021, with the next one scheduled for the October 17th to 21st, 2023.
