Portuguese companies make a positive balance of their participation in this year's edition of Equiplast fair, which took place in Barcelona between May 30 and June 2, where CEFAMOL promoted and organized the participation of Duomold, Plastimago, Steelplus and Tecnimoplás.

Promoted every three years, this is a fair dedicated to the plastic industry and, despite its international character, it concentrates mainly public from Spain; that is, it is a fair very focused on the local market and surrounding countries. The visitors are mainly from Spain and France, but also from North Africa, such as Morocco or Algeria.

Spain is currently the main destination of portuguese molds, according to data from the first quarter of 2023.

Historically, this market has always been very important for Portugal, occupying a prominent place in the ranking of the main export destinations. The proximity, but also the ease of communication, have been some of the main factors contributing to that.

The automotive industry was one of the sectors highlighted at the fair, and the packaging area is also particularly relevant.

According to the national companies, the balance was very positive, in terms of contacts made. The Spanish market is dynamic, revealing to the national companies that there are many projects that are already starting to be unblocked or that will be unblocked in the coming months, leading to believe that there will be a new wave of work, which is a good sign, in terms of market revitalization.
