The collective participation of the national mould companies in the 24th edition of Plastpol, the plastic materials fair that took place in Kielce, Poland, between the 24th and 27th of May, was very positive. At the fair, CEFAMOL was accompanied by the companies Erofio, Procadimoldes, SOCEM ED and SteelPlus.

In this return to the face-to-face version of one of the important European fairs, the national companies established interesting contacts and, according to Ana Timóteo, from CEFAMOL, "they could see that there is a sign that the European market is resuming its activity".

Despite the affluence of visitors and even exhibitors being considered smaller than in previous editions of the fair, the national manufacturers noted, however, that the numbers were higher than other fairs held after the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the organization, in the first three days of the fair more than ten thousand people passed through the premises, among exhibitors and visitors.

The participation satisfied the national companies, which emphasize the tendency they say they have felt: a need for the industry to find alternatives to Asia, as a mould supplier.

In general, Ana Timóteo points out, national producers consider that "the Poles recognize the Portuguese quality in mouldmaking". "Poland is a market with potential for injection, although many projects are still in a stand-by phase due to the current economic situation.

At the fair, it was also perceptible that the automotive industry continues to be the most sought after. However, Ana Timóteo underlines, "there were plenty of contacts for the medical industry, packaging and innovation products".

Recycling was a highlighted theme in this edition of the fair. Besides the various exhibitors in the area, there was even a conference organized by the Waste Management and Recycling Cluster.
