Tandem technology, the alternating process of two parting lines, takes advantage of (dead) cooling time to inject resin into the second parting line. It's an easier process to control and it's a flexible and simple way to save.
Each Parting Line has its own processing parameters, which are running independent. This enables the production of completely different parts out of the two parting lines. Plus, each Parting Line can be locked, and the tool can be processed as a standard tool at any time. This makes a very good case for Tandem when discussing different production volumes.
If you need a larger volume of one product over the other, all you need to do is to lock the parting line and produce exclusively out of one parting line. This would not be as simple with a Stack Mould. Tandem tools need only half of the shot size and of the mould opening stroke, when compared to stack moulds. Tandem process doesn’t need to be adjusted when processing only one parting line, and it’s possible to process shot variation up to 60% difference. This technology does not require a larger press providing more flexibility to the user.
